Media personality Jacqueline Maribe now claims she was with former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on the night businesswoman Monica Kimani was murdered.
While seeking to be acquitted of murder charges in the ongoing Monica Kimani case, the journalist says she never knew the businesswoman, she only learnt of her death while reading news of her brutal murder on Citizen TV.
She added that on the night of September 19, 2018, which is when Monica is suspected to have been brutally murdered, she was at Royal Media Services' studios doing interviews up to around midnight.
She then left her work place with her guests who were Juliet Julie alias Juju, Chelangat Ruto and Anita Thumbi.
The group went out and was later joined by former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko. They remained in the club until 4AM, she told the court.
Jowie on the other hand, also denied knowing Monica Kimani and said he was not at the deceased's apartment the night she was murdered.
This revelation has made Kenyans online to talk and some are surprised. What took Jackie Maribe so long to let us know she was with Mike Sonko the night Monica Kimani was murdered? You can imagine over 5years ?

On this matter, if I'm summoned by court, I’ll tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Na kwa mukhtasari tu I'm not the type of friends who disowns his friends at times of trouble. It’s true l was with Jackie Maribe at Citizen TV when I was being interviewed in the JKL show on the 19th September, 2018, from about 9:45pm. I was accompanied by Chela Ruto, Hon. Juju, Hon. Nancy, Hon. Anita (huyu ni yule nilipea the late Hon. Ken Okoth akaweka ball. May his soul continue resting in peace) and other male friends by then Odhis, Show, Swaleh, Pinye, among others. After the show, I volunteered to take all those who were with me for kamvinyo and nyama choma kule Club forty forty which belonged to my friend Allan Igambi formerly GM Serena and Lilian towers who was also present.
