Cabinet Secretary for Education Mr Ezekiel Machogu has in the latest ministrial announcements stated that learning should last for six hours.
The CS while addressing a Kenya Secondary School Heads Association KESSHA, in the presence of the chairperson Indimuli Kahi, insisted that teachers should not spend too much time giving content to learners.
In a presumably new raft of measures, Mr Ezekiel Machogu insisted that learning should begin at 8:20 am and end at 3:45 pm.

Citing reference to Finland, he stated that the country which is a first world country with an advanced education only offers a three hour learning session to the learners.

School heads are therefore expected to abide by the new announcement and ensure that learners get sufficient time to exercise.

Mr Indimuli Kahi, the chairperson KESSHA on the other hand took the opportunity to urge the ministry of education to hasten funds and resource allocation to schools.
He stated that managing schools with limited resources and delayed or lack of school fees remittance to day schools made the work of school heads very difficult.
